UND medical school director appointed COO of the Roosevelt Library Foundation

MEDORA, ND (AP) – A North Dakota native and former North Dakota University medical school executive was appointed chief operating officer of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation on Tuesday.

Laura Block, originally from Grand Forks, was most recently Associate Dean and COO of UND School of Medicine. Prior to this role, she was Chief Financial Officer of the University of North Dakota Alumni Association and Foundation for over a decade.

Block was instrumental in the UND Spirit campaign which raised more than $ 324 million for the state’s oldest and largest university.

“Laura is a recognized strategic thinker and leader,” said Edward O’Keefe, CEO of Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation. “She brings remarkable experience in financial supervision, discipline and innovation.”

Block was Vice President, Director of Investments and Trusts at Bremer Bank for five years. She also worked as a senior executive at Brady Martz and Associates in Grand Forks. She received her undergraduate degree in accounting and her master’s degree in business administration from UND.

“The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is a historic project for North Dakota and our nation,” Block said. “I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to bring my life of service and knowledge to lay the foundation for an organization that will thrive and inspire for generations to come. “
