A doctor of medicine Emmanuel Ogah was arrested for stabbing his 62-year-old mother to death in the Itele region of Ogun state.
According to a Facebook user, Awoniyi Isaac O, Emmanuel, at the service National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deputy, performed the act on Thursday, March 9 to the victim, Janet Ogahthe shop.
In a video shared by Awoniyi, Emmanuel said he killed his mother who sold food because she used to insult him. He said she told people he was sick and also “signed a form” declaring him, adding that he should be taken to a mental hospital.
He said people think he is sick, meanwhile he did some research “only to find out that Jesus is the sick one.”
Emmanuel said when he asked the victim to tell his staff to wash his clothes, she refused. He added that when he asked her for food, she also refused to give him any. He said these are the reasons he killed her. “Why is she doing this to me?” ” he said.
He also admitted that she gave him food the night before.
Emmanuel was arrested after his older brother, Cletus reported the case to the Itele-Ota Divisional Police Headquarters.
Emmanuel in his statement clarified that the deceased used to insult him in the presence of his staff.
The public relations officer of the state police, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the divisional police officer, Lukman Rahim led the police to the scene where Emmanuel was arrested after locking himself in the store of the deceased.
In the video, Emmanuel said he was made redundant from three different locations where he performed the compulsory one-year national service for young graduates.
He said he returned home the day before after his former employer fired him.
Oyeyemi said the victim’s body was taken to the mortuary at Ota General Hospital for autopsy, adding that the state police commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, ordered the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (Homicide Section) for further investigation.
